Spicy Smoked Kale Chips

For a healthy, crunchy delicious snack, try these kale chips.

They're packed with vitamins and minerals essential for heart, bone, eye and immune health, plus they're super easy.


  • 2 bunches of kale, rinsed and dried

  • 1 Tablespoon of Extra virgin olive oil, light flavoured

  • 1 Tablespoon of chili flakes

  • Sea salt

  • Paprika or cayenne pepper powder, for sprinkling


  • First, remove kale leaves from inner stems and cut break into bite sized pieces. Transfer kale pieces to a bowl and toss with a tablespoon of oil.

  • Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of chili flakes and sea salt.

  • Arrange these pieces on a parchment-lined baking sheet evenly.

  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180 deg C (350 F) for about 13-14 minutes, until crisp. Gently toss to redistribute in the last minutes of baking.

  • Lightly dust kale chips with cayenne pepper or paprika for spicy flavor and serve.
